Diploma in Psychology (Towards ECTS)

Introduction

This programme offers graduates the real opportunity to apply psychology skills and knowledge into a challenging and continually changing environment. This course combines people, providing knowledge and skills, which are in demand throughout the modern world.

Psychology is commonly defined as 'scientific' study of human behaviour and cognitive processes. Broadly the programme focuses on the different branches of psychology, and if they are indeed scientific. The major features of a science in psychology is in fact a definable subject matter - from conscious human thought to human and non-human behaviour, then to all those that leads to cognitive processes eventually as human behaviour.

It is important that those who are essentially interested in human behaviour know something about psychology - what is available, and how it can be used to help people. To do this, we need to understand how people perceive, remember, feel, think, communicate and solve problems; this is the domain of psychology.

We do not expect any background in psychology but intend to take you, step by step, to a level of understanding and expertise, which will be very valuable in the workplace. Similarly the programme also appeals to students with qualifications in computing and an interest in human behaviour.

At the end of the programme you will have a set of people skills, which are in demand throughout the modern world as our record of graduate employment shows.
